John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Ever since I was a child, I found others gravitating to me for support and guidance. It’s a natural gift I believe God blessed me with that has allowed me the incredible opportunity to be a light in dark places for many. Nothing can replace the feeling of genuine human connection and having someone to whole heartedly listen to our struggles. Because struggles are promised, it is important we lean on each other and share love abundantly. Every moment I am trusted to offer this to a person of any age or background is a moment I am grateful for as I also understand the value it holds.

I spent a lot of time trying to decide which direction I wanted to go in life but one thing I always knew was I would be a servant to others. 1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” During high school, I began working at an after-school program which sparked a love for early childhood education. And in the years following I continued to serve children and families in various settings including child care facilities, home visiting programs, and public school. Additionally, during this time, I began to experience the therapeutic benefit of being around horses. I cared for and competed with my horse until age 18. Due to my exposure with that, I am led to want to continue to pass this onto the clients I encounter within the Cornerstone group.

As an adult, I pursued my education in Social Work. I knew I had a passion to continue to offer compassion and encouragement to families in need. Raising children of my own has also given me a unique perspective and I enjoy learning about evidence-based parenting techniques. I have completed several trainings such as Circle of Security, Nurtured Heart, and Conscious Discipline. Each of these has helped shape my approach in working together with caregivers to navigate all different stages of life. Some of the areas I chose to focus on are the following:

  • Parenting
  • All Ages Preschool & Up
  • Play therapy (Ages 3-13)
  • Couples & Family
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

Having the courage to seek out help in times of confusion, frustration, or heartache is the most admirable thing one can do. It’s my goal to provide you with the comfort that you don’t have to walk this life alone along with the empowerment to move forward towards your own goals.
